Testimonials

We moved to the area in 2000. My Second Grader was quite shy. We were in search of friends for him which would help him feel part of a group. What I found in Three Treasures was not only friends for him but a wondeful network of caring, genuine adults.

Three Treasures provides a consistent set of values to follow. It supports the importance of academics, respect and responsibility in conjunction with physical fitness and a healthy body and mind.

Now a Junior Black Belt, my son exhibits confidence and strength in many areas. He remains very dedicted to the Kwok Wu Chuen System and loyal to his friends and family both within and outside the Academy.

My grand-daughter, Nicole O'Connell, has been enrolled in 3TMA for over 7 years. During this time she has made new friends and lasting relationships. She has always been a courteous, well behaved, well mannered child but at 3TMA this behavior has been reinforced. The 3TMA Chief Instructor, Larry Childs, and his staff of Instructors including Mr. Gleason, Mr. Pitts, Mr. Scott and Mr. Kelce have been positive forces in her growth at the Academy.

Nicole has learned to budget her time between school, homework, school activities and her 3TMA Training. There are always conflicts and sometimes difficult decisions are made. The Demo Team has helped her to be more disciplined due to the demands and committment of the team.

As a family, the Academy has become our extended family. We enjoy the opportunity to meet new members, their families and hopefully guide them along the way, to nurture them intheir journey to Black Belt in the 3TMA Taekwondo System.

Under the leadership of Mr. Larry Childs, the 3TMA Academy has grown in numbers and reputation. We appreciate all that 3TMA has done for us. Thank you very much.

I was too busy to try tai chi.

"I work full time," I said. "I have two active children." Of course I've heard about all the health benefits to doing tai chi, but I thought there was no way to make room in my schedule. After all, I drive my daughters to ballet classes, to Kwok Wu Chen at Three Treasures, and the occasional art or music lessons as well. It seemed perfectly normal for my children to have interests to pursue, but the thought of doing something for myself seemed, well, just too selfish. I thought I needed to spend every available hour with my children when I wasn't at work - even if it meant only being able to watch them do something they love through a window or a doorway to their classroom.

After all, my husband and I drive our daughters to ballet classes, to Kwok Wu Chuen at Three Treasures, and the occasional art or music lessons as well. But recurring migraine headaches and other stress-related health problems made me consider that I might need to do something that I love, just for myself. I signed up for Tai Chi at Three Treasures Martial Arts.

And I loved it.

Yes, tai chi has helped me relax and reduce the stress levels from my busy days. But I was surprised to find that doing tai chi seemed to enhance, rather than endanger, my relationship with my daughters. They think it's cool that I'm taking Tai Chi. They yell for me whenever they see someone doing tai chi on the T.V. They draw pictures of me doing tai chi on my birthday or mother's day cards. When I practice my forms at home, Samantha practices her forms as well and Adyn dances her ballet moves all around us.

There is a very supportive atmosphere at Three Treasures. I have made new friends, I have started learning to do something that I enjoy doing, and I have even competed in the 2006 Master Cup Tournament. I had no idea I would be this hooked. I have even arrived at class with a migraine headache and left class an hour later wondering where the headache went.

You may find taking tai chi classes to be relaxing and rewarding as I do. Even if you think you're too busy.

Busy Busy Mom

As a father, husband, and human resource director I have a very busy and full life. I have always appreciated the martial arts for its ability to help you develop mind, body and spirit (the Three Treasures). . Though my life is extremely busy I have found that Three Treasures Martial Arts Academy has excellent programs , in a great new facility, with a choice of conveniently available times in which to train. Though convenient times was a prime consideration in selecting Three Treasures I have been most impressed with the school atmosphere and quality of instruction . Mr. Larry Childs and his well trained instructional staff have created an extremely positive training environment that combines respect for the student's individual goals and circumstance with the challenge necessary for personal growth. I personally take Kwok Wu Chuen (the hard style) along with Tai Chi (the soft style) and have found the combination to be extremely powerful and beneficial. Master Ken Kuek, the Grandmaster of the system is an internationally respected martial artist who has created an awesome system that combines Tae Kwon Do with Kung Ku with other styles to help people develop to their full potential. Give it a try. I believe it offers a great deal of benefits to anybody , at any age and can enhance and fit into a busy life style.

I would like to add another thought re: Master Kuek; though he is an internationally renowned and respected martial artist he is extremely approachable and interested in each of his student's individual development . We are very fortunate to study under such a Master Instructor.

Before I joined Three Treasures Martial Arts, I was at a crossroads. I failed out of Corning Community College and I was drinking too much. I just did not have my life together. Then, when I joined 3TMA, I started to see how positive the people were in class and I started to feel positive about myself. Three Treasures taught me how to focus on jobs. I went back to Corning Community College and a lot of teachers rolled their eyes because they thought I was going to be a problem. The teachers began to see the change in me. They saw I was well disciplined. They saw I was willing to do the work to make my grades better. Now I have graduated from Corning Community College (2005), and will be attending Mansfield University this fall. I do not think I could have done this without the support of Three Treasures Martial Arts.
